Perseverance

We spurn despair and strive to complete tasks to the best of our abilities, regardless of the difficulty. We respond creatively to overcome obstacles and ask for help when necessary.

Quote of the Week

“So be sure when you step, step with care and great tact. And remember that life’s a Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed!) Kid, you’ll move mountains!”

An Important Message from Headmaster Fawcett About Volunteering at ACA

As Archway Classical Academy is reviewing its security measures, we have decided to slightly amend our volunteer policy. Please take note of the following amendment:

All volunteers who wish to work with children must have fingerprint clearance approval from Great Hearts. Previously, those who had begun the process were allowed to volunteer if they were supervised. We are now saying that only those who have received approval may volunteer. This includes chaperoning on field trips, classroom parties,  as well as working in the classroom. Approval is only given when Great Hearts has completed a background clearance and DPS has identified that the person is cleared. This process can take several months.  Once approval is granted a special badge will be sent to the front desk for you to wear whenever you are volunteering in the classroom. If you are not wearing the “special” badge,  you will not be allowed to go back to the classroom. No exceptions will be made.  Great Hearts has been on our campus fingerprinting volunteers on three occasions this school year. They are not scheduled to be back until August. If you still need the fingerprinting, please contact HR at Great Hearts.  That email address hr@greatheartsaz.org. They will be offering one day in February when they will fingerprint individuals at their location.

I understand that this will inconvenience a few people who recently got fingerprinted in January and are waiting for approval. I hope you understand that the student’s safety is our top priority.  You should feel assured that anyone who will be around your children has been approved by the proper authorities. ( Library volunteers who are working when children are not in the library are the only exception.)
