The 100 Point Project is a student-driven project that requires the students to complete various assignments of their choosing throughout the duration of the book. Each task is allotted a specific number of points, and the students must find a way to complete 100 points worth of tasks by the end. (For example, a child can complete five tasks for 5 points, three tasks for 10 points, one task for 15 points, and one task for 30 points. These add up to 100 points total.) Again, this project will be entirely the responsibility of the students; they will neither be guided nor assigned particular tasks to complete. I suggest regularly asking your child to share what they've done so far and how they plan to reach 100 points by the end. They have been provided with a table to keep track of the points they've earned.
I am confident that the kids will find these reader's portfolios to be enjoyable and enriching!
