During our History lesson on Friday, we learned about Ivan the Terrible and his strategies of ruling in comparison with his grandfather, Ivan the Great. We had a very moving discussion about leaders who rule with fear and others who are respected by their people. Logan prompted the class by asking which ruler was stronger; this began a wonderful (and quite passionate) discussion about what makes a leader strong. We found that there are varying interpretations for "strong". Some students defined strength as absolute power, while others understood it as being influential. What do you think?

Perseverance
We spurn despair and strive to complete tasks to the best of our abilities, regardless of the difficulty. We respond creatively to overcome obstacles and ask for help when necessary.
Quote of the Week
“So be sure when you step, step with care and great tact. And remember that life’s a Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed!) Kid, you’ll move mountains!”
